A Study in Romance & History
There is something quietly theatrical about these. A pair of French porcelain teacups, each adorned with portraits drawn from another era – figures once at the center of empire, now softened by time and reimagined through delicate porcelain and gold.
One cup carries the profile of Napoleon Bonaparte, the other a woman believed to be Joséphine de Beauharnais – a pairing that feels less like history, and more like memory. Their presence is subtle, framed by deep green bands and fine gilded detailing that catch the light in the most understated way.
Though created later, these pieces draw from the language of the French Empire – where objects were not simply used, but composed. Even the smallest details were considered.
Found in Provence, they carry that sensibility still.
Style them for an intimate tea – two cups set side by side, something warm poured slowly, the moment lingering longer than expected. Or display them on open shelving where they read less as tableware, and more as quiet objects of story and atmosphere.
They are not just for drinking – they are for setting a tone.
Set includes two teacups + two saucers. All sales are final.
